Sleep? What's that?

So, I've been sick this week. Have a cough. Ya know the kind, mildly annoying during the day, monster at nite, especially after you've been laying down/reclining with your head raised for a number of hours and all the goop deposits into your chest and you have to cough, and cough and COUGH forever to dislodge it all. Well, throw in a baby that has been getting up between 12-2am, and then every 1-1.5 hrs until morning, and well, I've been coughing...A LOT! Cuz I'll get to sleep, the stuff drains, baby wakes up, I start coughing the stuff up. And the cycle starts over.

I don't know WHY he's getting up so many times at nite. I've tried just patting his back, that occasionally works but he'll generally then wake up 10-15 mins later and REALLY get up. The only way to get him back to sleep is either Alex gets up with him, walks/rocks him for 10 mins or so and he goes back to sleep. Or, if I get up with him, he has to nurse. That gets him back to sleep quickly and the quiestest but I know he doesn't HAVE to nurse during the nite so I don't know what's causing this!! I've tried letting him sleep in his crib, well, tried that last nite cuz I was sleeping in the recliner thats in there so I could 'sleep with my head elevated', same routine though. I've tried having him sleep right next to me in bed but that's only worked like twice. I dunno, I'm at my wits ends.

I ordered a copy the Baby Sleep Coach System that guarantees to get them sleeping more, which I know we both need, he needs it just as much as Mommy needs him to! So we'll see how it works, I'm desperate!!

Loooooong, uninterrupted sleep.....my dear friend....I miss you so!!!

This may not seem like much help. I had horrible sleepers the first one worse than the last. I probably did everything wrong. Rocked them back to sleep when they cried, fed them when they probably did not need it, let them lay on top of me when they had a crib. All that aside, they are two and four now, and sleep great. None of it really lasts very long. Just think, one day you won't be able to get those boys out of bed for anything...

Sleep deprivation is the PITS! I hope you feel better very soon and that a certain darling baby will get it figured out soon. He will feel better with a good night sleep too ")
